I am a licensed Real Estate Sales Representative (REALTOR) in the province of Ontario, Canada. I am a member of the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB), Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA). I work with HomeLife - one of the leading real estate companies in Canada (3rd place in sales volume) and an International Real Estate Organization that operates in other countries as well. Being a resident of Toronto and a licensed Ontario realtor, I mostly deal with real estate properties in the GTA and the surrounding area. I handle residential, commercial and recreational properties, and offer a wide range of related services.
There are two categories of buyers. First, there are those who are buying property to live there. For them it is very important to find not only the best deal, but the right environment. Although everyone has some common ground in their requirements for a "dream house" - like a safe neighborhood, excellent condition of the property, and so on - different people have their own unique needs. For example, families with children look for an area with a good school in it or a quiet park nearby. For others, it is very important to have sport facilities close to their home. And so on.
Another category consists of those people who are buying property for investment purposes. In this case, the selection criteria is different. More specifically, it is more important for them to find property that has greater potential for a value increase and which is easy to rent out.
When I work with a buyer, I take all of these factors into consideration, so that my clients get exactly what they want.

It's never a bad idea to have property in a warm place. At the moment, in some developing countries in Central America and the Caribbean, the cost of land and housing is comparatively low. In the future, this situation will surely change, and investments in these areas will give back a good profit. You can say the same thing about certain developed regions like Florida in the United States, or Costa del Sol in Spain, especially if you buy property there during periods of recession or real estate market collapse.
